Canvas is a heavy, tightly constructed plain-weave fabric, in footwear almost always woven from cotton or a cotton-rich blend. The tight weave gives a fabric that is strong for its weight, holds its shape, and takes dye evenly — which is why canvas shoes come in every colour imaginable.

How to care for canvas
- Brush off dry dirt first — wet mud smears into the weave.
